Over the years, youth unemployment has been a major political and social economic challenge in Africa. In 2018 the International Labour Organization (ILO) released figures indicating that about 200 million youth in Africa were unemployed.
This is a disturbing trend in a continent that holds about 30% of the world known mineral reserves. Little wonder creating jobs and entrepreneurship has become the campaign narratives of politicians and political parties in Africa.
This they harp on to delude electorates who are mostly youths who expectedly hopes to gain employment and as well enjoy other electoral promises.
